The Tournament

Last weekend, I competed in my first tournament since declaring my intent to become the most legendary player in Legends. I was really excited for the opportunity to test my skills against some of the best players in the game.

The tournament format was a Best-of-3 single elimination bracket with each match consisting of two games. The first game was played on a standard point control map while the second game was played on a modified king of the hill map where teams had to capture two out of three control points to win.

I did fairly well in the tournament, but I definitely learned a lot about what I need to work on. In particular, I learned that I need to focus more on team play and adaptability. My individual skills are strong, but I need to be better at playing as part of a team and reacting quickly to changes in the game state.

Based on my experience from the tournament, here are three things that I am going to focus on this week in order to improve my play:

1) Improve my team fighting skills: In general, I need to be better at coordinating with my teammates and reacting quickly to changes in the game state. This includes things like calling out targets, grouping up for pushes/engagements, and taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

2) Be more adaptable: One of my biggest weaknesses is that I have trouble adapting quickly to new situations. This often leads me to make poor decisions or miss opportunities during fights. In order to improve this, I need to be more willing to change tactics based on what is happening in the game and what my opponents are doing.

3) Practice on more maps: The tournament was played on two different maps (a standard point control map and a modified king of the hill map), so it was helpful for me see how different maps can affect the flow of the game. As such, I need to practice on more maps so that I am familiar with how they play out and how best to take advantage of the terrain features.
